JADRAN DUNCUMB

Jadran Duncumb is a lutenist who grew up in Oslo, although his origins are English and Croatian. Since it was young he started a fervent concert activity on classical guitar, also as a soloist with
orchestras such as the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the London Mozart Players and Norwegian radio and television KORK Orchestra, and recitals in venues such as Wigmore Hall, London. He made the
guitar studies at the Royal College of Music in London (2012) and then continued with the lute and basso continuo with Rolf Lislevand in Trossingen (2016). In 2015 he won the “Maurizio Pratola” lute competition in L’Aquila. Ha has an intense concert activity as a soloist and chamber musician with musicians such as Lina Tur Bonet, Giulia Semenzato, Johannes Pramsohler, André Lislevand and his brother Emil Duncumb. He recorded for Audax Weiss & Hasse (2018) and subsequently the first volume of Bach: Works for lute which obtained a Diapason D’Or (May 2021). Upcoming projects include the latter Bach disc with Audax, Dowland’s Lachrimae with the Accademia Strumentale Italiana for Challenge Classics and a CD of music for soprano and romantic guitar with Giulia Semenzato for Alpha Classics. Begins in 2023 a new role as artistic director of the Baroque orchestra Norwegian, Barokkanerne Norwegian Baroque Ensemble.
