MAGDALENA MALEC

Born in Warsaw, she studied organ and harpsichord in Poland, Finland, Italy and Switzerland, in the class of Andrea Marcon, Lorenzo Ghielmi, Miklos Spanyi, Maija Lehtonen, Julian Gembalski, Marek Toporowski. In 2010 she graduated with honors from the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel. In 2010 she won the ‘Bach Prize’ at the Johann Sebastian Bach International Competition for Harpsichord in Leipzig. She has been awarded at numerous international organ competitions (Toulouse 2008, Innsbruck 2007, Borca di Cadore 2007, Carunchio 2006, Fano Adriano 2005), as well as at the Polish Government National Competition in Warsaw 2005. She carries out an intense concert activity as a soloist on organ and harpsichord. He collaborates with numerous early music orchestras and ensembles. He has played in prestigious international festivals, including the Klavierfestival Ruhr, Salzburger Festspiele, Menuhin Festival Gstaad, Resonanzen at the Konzerthaus in Vienna, Bachfest in Leipzig, Utrecht Early Music Festival, Freunde Alter Musik Basel. He also collaborates with Swiss symphony orchestras in contemporary music and film music projects (Tonhalle Orchester, Sinfonieorchester Basel, Berner Symphonieorchester). He has recorded several CDs with music for organ, solo harpsichord and chamber music. Since 2015 he has been teaching harpsichord at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis as assistant to Andrea Marcon’s harpsichord class.
