IRENE GONZALEZ ROLDÁN

Irene Gonzalez Roldán (Spain, 1997), began playing the harpsichord at the age of seven. After completing his studies in Seville and Salamanca, he moved to the Netherlands in 2017 to study in The Hague and Amsterdam with teachers Jacques Ogg and Menno van Delft. In 2018, Irene began a “Master in Performance” at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, in the class of Andrea Marcon, which she completed in 2022 with honors and in addition receiving an award from the Walter und Corina Christen-Marchal-Stiftung Foundation as a special recognition for his closing performance of the Masters. In September 2022 he started a further Specialized Master in Basso Continuo and Maestro at Harpsicord with Jörg-Andreas Bötticher and Andrea Marcon. In 2022, Irene won the prestigious Bach Prize and a special prize at the XXXIII International Bach Competition in Leipzig (Germany). In 2021 he won the first prize (which had never been awarded in previous editions) and the audience prize at the III International Harpsichord Competition “Città di Milano”. In the same year, his Flor Galante ensemble won first prize at the Fourth International Bach Competition in Berlin. As a soloist and chamber musician, Irene has performed at various festivals in Spain, France, Switzerland, Italy and the Netherlands, including the Early Music Festival of Seville (FEMÁS), Mars en Baroque, Musikalische Wellness (organized from La Cetra Barockorchester Basel), FAMB (Basel), Amici della Musica di Padova, Académie d’Orgue de Friborg (Les Canisius), FEMUBA, Festival de Música Antigua de Caimari, Otoño Barroco, etc. On several occasions he has performed as a soloist under the direction of Jacques Ogg, Alfredo Bernardini and Eduardo López Banzo. He regularly collaborates with La Cetra Barockorchester Basel. Other collaborations with ensembles and orchestras include: Orquesta Barroca de Sevilla, Castello Consort, Sponte Sua, Seconda Prat!ca, New Collegium, etc.
